As a child, growing up sailing on Long Island Sound with my family on our 33’ Vanguard sailboat, I learned at a young age tiny spaces are not really tiny at all. I learned very quickly that my mom had a talent for making great tasting food for our family of 7 and 2 Labrador Retrievers while underway from our tiny galley.
Fast forward some years, I found myself starting and running the banquets and catering department at the California Culinary Academy, working as the director of banquets and catering for a California based restaurant group, and starting my own catering company. All this while living on my sailboat in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past 33 years.
This reinforced my love for cooking. Now I am one of the chefs at Whole Foods Market, doing what I love. Teaching people to cook good, whole food from scratch, nothing processed, and making them healthy in the process.
